Onto the place plate we put a napkin, depending on the type of event.

The silverware to be used is placed from the inside out…

The knife for the main-course goes to the right…
The fork for the main-course belongs to the left…
An additional fork should be placed on the left of the first fork…
The second knife is placed at the right of the first knife…
A salad fork is placed at the left of the previous fork…
A small fork for the appetizers is placed at the left of the previous fork…
A soup spoon is placed at the right of the previously placed knife…
To the right place a pasta set-up, a large fork resting in a pasta spoon…
On top place a spoon for coffee…
Now we added on top a fork for cake…
A coffee cup is placed above the dessert spoon & fork set…
A red wine glass is put in place…
Now we place a white wine glass, to be used before the red wine glass…
A champagne glass, to be used after the red wine glass…
To the far right we have place a Riesling glass, to be used before all the other glasses…
A butter plate to the left completes this dinner set up for a seven course dinner…
